I think you should have a "Foreign Language" category here. I know in particular there are some boards where the members communicate in Spanish. They should be able to promote their boards here so people who speak languages other than English can more easily find those boards.

There are some boards that look like MSN groups?

Hi, I'm Mau. I think it's great that there's a community for posting ads for other communities.
I have a question regarding posting my board for advertising. Now, my board's a Sonic the hedgehog themed board, and Sonic's a video game character and the board is for fans of said character.
I noticed some things for computer gaming and whatnot, but nothing that quite seemed to fit.

Hi there - I have a fairly new board and I can't seem to locate info regarding how people can find us on Google, yahoo, etc. Right now you can find us on google if you type in the name of our group The Color Connection and the word Yuku. I'd like people to be able to find us just from the types of things we dicuss on our board 'color analysis' etc. I would appreciate any advice on the matter or being pointed to existing info.

I have it enabled and have tags such as fun, friendship, mates, Australia, New Zealand. My group is called TranstasmanMates and I cannot find it using find. Am I doing something wrong?

Here at Promote we use the following terms:

Board - you may also see community or domain used. A board is the same as a group on MSN.
Each board can be subdivided into smaller units; categories and forums.

1. Choose a category.
Please only list your board in one category. Boards with several themes can be posted in Multi-topic.
If your board does have an over all theme, but includes many off topic forums, you should post in the forum for your theme. For example a soap opera fan board that includes recipes, games and other non-soap forums, would still advertise in Movies and TV as that is where people will be looking.

I have been a user of ezboard / yuku since 2000. At that time, the non-anglophone boards were many. Our Frenchs-speaking community was very strong, with thousands of members.

Since now, I must say that L'Empire (http://p104.ezboard.com/bleforumdetonyetdetadra) is amongst the only French-speaking communities left. We have paid our Gold community fee for 8 years and we have more than 1,700...

Description of a group

We are going to change the description of our Group that people will see when they find us thru a search - we are a dog group with certain rules and guidelines - is there a maximum number of characters that we can use in a description? Why are you using the support account so much, it seems rather impersonal?

It is a bit impersonal, but it is also practical. By using the support account to send PMs with suggestions, concerns etc about posts on the board, the reply PMs are available no matter which CS staffer is working. The same thing applies to PMs sent by you. If you send the message to the support account any staffer can reply. Should you send the Pm to one person and...

When should a board be considered "dead"

When we review the ads in a forum, one of the things that we look for is if the board is still alive.

If a board no longer has forums and the display name now says "closed", we vault the ad.

But then there are the boards with no posts in quite a while.

What should be the criteria for vaulting the ad if the board is no longer active.

I have read and re-read, discussed it with others and none of us can make head nor tails of some of it. Specifically this.
